Succumbing To Spring

... and kissing some grass!

From the title of this post you can be forgiven for thinking that this is more of a submissive gesture than a triumphant announcement.

To be honest, even though we're at the end of March, the weather is so cold and wet that it's proving really hard to shake off the winter blues. From a photography point of view I'm still seeing very much in black and white.

There are traces of colour in the undergrowth. Yellows and pinks and greens. But the view from within is still one of stark browns and blacks. Twisted branches and fallen trees ravaged by winter storms. No calming skies to comfort the local park. Blue interludes all too soon replaced by the greys of incoming storm clouds. Greys turn to darker greys. Breezes gust to biting winds. Tired autumn leaves swirl and the air turns to water.
